Secad has over the years developed a pilot plant dedicated exclusively to the creation and refinement of medical SSA-based products. SSA (Soft Skin Adhesive) technology exploits the properties of silicone to give the customer’s patch unique properties that cannot be achieved with normal acrylic patches. Excellent adhesion to the skin, removability and repositionability are just some of the features that make this product unique and widely used in the field of advanced dressings. In the case of post-operative scarring or stitching, atraumaticity is an essential factor in avoiding unwanted effects. This is why this category of patch is preferred in this type of application. The pilot plant can apply these adhesives by means of the efficient, purpose-built dispensing and spreading system. This particular category of adhesives always consists of two components that must be perfectly dosed to obtain a compliant product. The two components are always a resin and a hardener (Component A and B). The latter, with the help of temperature, accelerates the cross-linking reaction and thus obtains the finished product.
