One of the biggest problems in the development of an adhesive product has always been to be able to test its behaviour in the changing temperature and humidity ranges that can occur during the changing days and seasons.
Very often it is possible to develop a product that meets the customer’s requirements in the laboratory or in the field at room temperature.
To be able to guarantee this in all climatic conditions, it is essential to carry out tests that do not involve waiting until summer for hot weather or winter for cold weather.
The choice of adhesive is therefore crucial and cannot be neglected or left to chance.
For this reason, Secad has decided to invest significant economic resources to have a walk-in climatic chamber made specifically for temperature- and humidity-controlled applications. The application range goes from -10 to +50°C. The large interior space allows several metres of product to be applied on site at a time, performing hot-cold cycles that can go on for as long as required.
A (De-)Humidifier has also been installed, so that the other major parameter affecting outdoor applications can also be controlled. Fine-tuning a product must be done to the best of one’s ability and after thorough checks, because preventing product defects helps to avoid possible customer complaints!
